Incorporated in 1999, AFR is a leading provider of passive optical components, designed mainly for telecommunication, fibre laser and fibre sensor applications. Headquartered in Hong Kong, AFR designs and manufactures advanced and cost-effective passive components through our ISO 9001-certified facility in Zhuhai, China.


AFR specializes in high power handling fibre optic components and polarization maintaining components. Its 1064 nm high power components are capable of handling up to 20 W average, and 20 kW peak optical power for fibre laser applications.


Its PM components offer excellent optical performance, i.e., high extinction ratio and low insertion loss, and high reliability which become the key enabler of broadband optical networks, high-speed optical test equipments, laser gyroscope, and other PM optical systems.


AFR designs and manufactures both standard and custom components, and provides contract manufacturing solutions to its customers. AFR's customer base includes fibre laser, optical telecommunication and fibre sensor manufacturers, as well as research institutes and universities around the globe.


AFR has a strong management team. Many of them possess more than a decade of successful technology or management experience in fibre optic industry in Silicon Valley. AFR’s goal is to become the customers' first choice for high power handling & PM fibre optic components, and to promote our world-class optical technology in the global market.
